We started Spot with the belief that there is a better way to move freight. The old ways had become inefficient and unreliable. While the internet and smartphones brought about a smart future with new ways to work and communicate, freight brokering remained stuck in the past.

In 2009 we left an old guard broker and set out on our own to pioneer the future of freight brokering. We started with the belief that freight brokering could be more efficient, reliable and even pleasant for customers. Gone would be the days of breaking promises to customers by giving back freight, gone would be the days of customers wondering if their freight would arrive safely and on-time, and gone would be the days of poor customer service.

We knew we couldn’t do this on our own, so we found a partner with enough grit to help us realize our vision — small carriers. These hard-working and determined drivers take pride in their work and that level of quality and service is exactly what we needed.

Driven by our vision and strengthened by our carriers we began to build the tools we would need to bring freight brokering into the connected world we all now live in. This is why we built our MySpot TMS and Carrier Portal. This set of tools enables both shippers and carriers to save money, track their freight and access necessary shipment information any time. MySpot also simplifies processes that used to require several different systems and complex pricing tables. We don’t invest in technology because it’s new, we invest in technology because it makes lives better for our customers and contract carriers.

Finally, we couldn’t do any of this without our team. At Spot we’ve built a team of motivated and knowledgeable employees dedicated to making sure every shipment, every customer and every contract carrier is taken care of. That’s why, no matter what time or day, our customer service is always available.

With a solid vision, invaluable contract carrier partners, powerful technology and talented employees we’ve grown from two people in a small office into one of the fastest growing companies in North America.

And we’re just getting started.
